Here are the history sources we prefer…

Indian Languages

Introduction… India is unlike any country in the world when it comes to languages. There are over 100 national languages and over 1000 regional dialects. That’s so many, it’s difficult to count. Hindi is the most popular and English is widely spoken due to British rule prior to independence.

The good news is that you can use English when doing business here (it’s doubtful you’ll want to learn any single language when so many are spoken). You’ll find a large population that speak English fluently and most will know it well enough to do work. However, you may also become frustrated by varying levels of skill in English communication.

Assuming you do choose to learn Hindi or something else (or you want to help your Indian partners improve English), we have written a guide for the best methods in learning a new language. It helps with the best sources and ways to practice until you achieve fluency. This guide works for all languages, unless it’s a small regional dialect (as you’ll see). Here’s a link so you can get started (or at least understand the commitment required to learn a new language)…

This is a very complex topic and likely something you want to defer to banks, financiers, tax experts, and attorneys. A lot of companies expand internationally exclusively for the financial or tax benefits. Others are sunk by not giving this adequate planning. So while this may be dry and unexciting, it’s crucial for people to learn. Here are our favorite generic sources to get started…
